1. I think that love defies and goes beyond expectations. Expect that it’ll be easy and it’ll be difficult, difficult to the point where you question your willingness to love at all. Expect that it’ll be difficult and it’ll be easy, easy to the point where you question whether you’re in love at all (“It can’t be this easy”).

  2. Note to self

Disregard expectations as to who you are supposed to be; work on becoming, expressing, and making manifest who you are. If the expectations do on some level resonate with you, you can’t help but subconsciously taking them to heart, and so, since you’re already working towards them subconsciously, you need to ask yourself if it is necessary to busy your conscious mind with them.

  3. Consider: How deeply do you love? How deeply do others expect you to love? Have you suppressed your ability to love so that you may conform to the expectations of others, or have you dared to go beyond their expectations?

  4. Consider: Do you want something from others — whether it be love, acceptance, respect, approval, or forgiveness — that you aren’t willing to give to them first?
