A vision of a girl and I laying together on our sides. Both of us were, at the very least, shirtless. Her exposed back gently pressed up against my chest. My right arm was underneath her, and my left..
My left hand drifted up from her lower back. My index finger lightly made contact with her skin, and as it slowly traced up from her spine to her side my middle finger joined the index. Once they came to the top of her side I rested all of my fingers on top of her ribs, and stroked them.
And then I kissed her, up from above her elbow to her shoulder.
Though I only had this vision today, I’ve already revisited the thought many times. And when I replay it in my head, I tweak it a little in this part, sometimes adding these:
Sometimes, I will admit, I slide my hand over her side, run it over her abdomen and up her chest, and then deliberately have my fingers pluck at her left nipple as they branch out to cup her breast.
Sometimes I would continue and kiss her neck.
Sometimes I would try to roll her towards me so that she would be on her back, but I would still be on my side.
No matter what, though, I always had it conclude the same way:
I always looked over at her. Looked her in the eyes. And we smile. She softly takes my left hand in her right, and pulls it close to her chest. We smiled at one another, delighted in having the other to hold and to feel. And then we kissed.
And then, the vision had usually been complete.
Until I had one small (or I could say large) tweak sometime later in the day. It played out just as before, but with one change to the ending.
I looked over at her and we stare into each other’s eyes, smiling. Then she softly takes my left hand in her right and places our grasped hands gently on her large, swollen belly. She moved our hands around it so I could feel the broad size of it.
And I could feel, in this moment, more than one should feel in just another daydream. I felt happy and whole.
I knew that one day I would be a father. One day I would be a husband. And one day I would be a Dad.

- Brandon: Anywho, the premise is this:
- Brandon: You wake up one morning.
- Brandon: And your face is different.
- Brandon: To everyone else on the planet, nothing has changed.
- Brandon: But you don't see your original face.
- Brandon: Not in any photos, videos, anything.
- Brandon: It's like your brain mentally replaces the image of your former face with this new face.
- Brandon: You get scared. You even begin to question whether your original face was even your actual face.
- Brandon: How's that?
- Brandon: Psycho-thriller-y?
- Dwndwn: Indeed
- Dwndwn: I'd be freaked
- Brandon: Hey, when I came up with this, I could see it so vividly. Scary as fuck.
- Brandon: The movie/book would identify how central the face is to ourself.
- Dwndwn: I can imagine some kinda epic trailer
- Brandon: But how our character and way of thinking is completely disconnected with our physical appearance.
- Brandon: DUDE TOTALLY
- Dwndwn: everyone would be like O_O WOOOOOAH!
- Brandon: YES IT IS A TOTALLY MINDBLOW/MINDFUCK
- Brandon: And at the end the screen goes black
- Brandon: Big, bold letters fade onto the screen saying "4 years later" or some # of years
- Brandon: And then video fades in
- Brandon: A bathroom light gets flicked on
- Brandon: A mirror is visible
- Brandon: The light is flicked off
- Brandon: Audio is heard, a shaky voice is audible
- Brandon: Thick throated, sounds like the speaker had been crying and is very weak
- Brandon: "Mom.......it's happened again."
- Brandon: TOTALLY MIND FUCK
- Dwndwn: D: lol... or even trippier
- Dwndwn: throughout the process of the story
- Dwndwn: the person remember their "old" face yes?
- Brandon: They do, and they try to recreate it with snippets of images or sketch artists
- Dwndwn: if it were a film you could have memory scenes in which they see it (because only they can?)
- Brandon: And also tries to show the world the face they see when they look in the mirror
- Brandon: Memory scenes would be good. But as he movie goes on you'll see them showing the same memories, but that time, with the new face.
- Dwndwn: and at the end you have the face from the memories, but the person has forgotten, and... yeah idk
- Dwndwn: xD
- Brandon: Then the thinker trips out within the dream like "nononono"
- Brandon: O.O YES
- Brandon: IT REVERTS BACK AND THEY DON'T REMEMBER
- Brandon: OMG OMG OMG
- Dwndwn: I was just thinking "Omg, people will be crapping bricks after that"
- Brandon: YES
- Brandon: AAAAAAH
- Brandon: THIS NEEDS TO BE A MOVIE
- Brandon: Sorry, but I can never think of fictional storylines, this is big for me. Not to mention this is one hell of a mind fuck.
- Dwndwn: one thing for sure you'd need is uh...
- Dwndwn: like a bathroom (with mirror)
- Dwndwn: and for the freakout scene
- Dwndwn: (s)
- Dwndwn: you'd need like just something to cover the mirror
- Dwndwn: "greenscreen" in like
- Dwndwn: footage of the "face" (or person playing the face... things I thought I never say hah)
- Dwndwn: looking into the mirror
- Dwndwn: or... no wait I lost my train of thought there. haha sorry.
- Dwndwn: faildwn.
- Brandon: haha I have no idea what you meant
- Dwndwn: I don't either
- Dwndwn: let's ignore what i said there haha
- Brandon: we'd use two different actors, of about the same height and weight
- Brandon: I wanna know what you meant haha
- Dwndwn: well uhm
- Dwndwn: I was thinking like
- Dwndwn: since the main character can still remember his/her old face
- Dwndwn: like trippy scenes
- Dwndwn: in which they look in the mirror and see a different face (I know it's a metaphor used in a buncha songs, but literally, that would be spooky)
- Dwndwn: yeah, I dropped the mental ball haha.
- Brandon: Oh like have one character stand in front of the mirror but show, in the mirror's reflection, the other actor?
- Dwndwn: yep yep
- Brandon: That's one way to do it, but to me, it's a bit too straightforward
- Dwndwn: yeah I dropped the ball on you there ._. sorry.
- Brandon: I think that in scenes or even just a situation where the main perspective is the main character, it needs to be completely evident that they are the new person.
- Brandon: So one moment it could show video that someone is recording of the main person, say, giving a speech for school. On their recording it would display the original person.
- Brandon: But when he goes to video the footage, absolutely everything would be the same as in the original recording, except for his face being different. Which would be a major challenge for the director or filmer.
- Brandon: But if done correctly, and perfectly controlled, it would be like OMG
- Brandon: I meant to say that "once the main character goes to view the recording, absolutely everything would be the same as in the original recording, except for his face being different. Which would be a major challenge for the director or filmer."
- Dwndwn: well
- Dwndwn: a skilled person
- Dwndwn: could probably make this as a low budget film and still have it MindF*ck people into submission
- t3nkabuto: I'm thinking
- t3nkabuto: It starts in the morning.
- t3nkabuto: He clicks on the light to the hallway bathroom.
- t3nkabuto: Take a piss. Washes his hands. And you see his neck start to come up so he can look at himself.
- t3nkabuto: When he enters the bathroom he is the original actor.
- t3nkabuto: He closes the door.
- t3nkabuto: And it shows his hand raising the seat for the toilet.
- t3nkabuto: His hand pushing the knob to flush, his hands turning the faucets for the water.
- t3nkabuto: And then the camera shows the entire scene.
- t3nkabuto: It is not him.
- t3nkabuto: His neck begins to carry his head up towards the mirror.
- t3nkabuto: Scene change to parents room.
- t3nkabuto: A yell, muffled by walls.
- t3nkabuto: "WHERE IS MY FACE"
- t3nkabuto: Parents freak out and bolt out of bed
- t3nkabuto: Find him on the floor crying
- t3nkabuto: The original actor has returned
- t3nkabuto: "What's wrong?" His parents ask, cradling his tear-streaked face in their arms.
- t3nkabuto: "I..don't see it."
- t3nkabuto: ?
- t3nkabuto: How does all that sound?
- t3nkabuto: There would later be a scene where he is in a psychologist's office. The appointment was rushed, no one is sure what is going on.
- t3nkabuto: The main character continues to look down at his hands, then run them over his cheeks, nose, and chin; then looks down at his hands again. Repeats.
- t3nkabuto: The psychologist watches him. Tries to ask him what he sees, what is wrong.
And, I don’t want to be just another girl in the long line of girlfriends you have had. I don’t want to be an afterthought, I don’t want to be forgotten, I don’t want to ever go away. I want to be a common fixture in your house, as usual as the chairs or the counter top. I don’t want any other…
Written for English 12, the morning it was due. I think it turned out pretty good, how ‘bout you?
Theme: God is our controller, our Master Puppeteer; directing and bending us to His will. Through our loyalty we are shown the riches and beauty of the life he has provided.
I may be lost in all but your eyes
Listlessly drifting about the lands
Have lived a life I could not devise
Moved by none other than your handsI aim but only to serve you
With your blessing, I preach
Echoing my soul’s sinew
The gift of your word, I teachYour word stokes compassion amidst fury
Exposes the world’s natural riches
Expels the burden of worry
Sews the suffering’s stitchesMy life is no longer menial
For you have made it meaningful.
Listlessly drifting about the lands
Have lived a life I could not devise
Moved by none other than your hands
I aim but only to serve you
With your blessing, I preach
Echoing my soul’s sinew
The gift of your word, I teach

For you have made it meaningful.” —Brandon Hall
